Limestone Mantel with Carved Interlace Panel

A reclaimed limestone fireplace mantel whose ornament is concentrated in a single place. A tapered recessed panel at the centre of the frieze is carved with interlaced strapwork and foliage around a small rosette, while the rest of the stone stays plain. A double molded shelf runs above, and the jambs flare gently from blocked capitals down to square plinth bases. The limestone is mottled in grey and cream with a softly worn surface. Suited to a sitting room, bedroom, library or boutique hospitality interior.
