Limestone Mantel with Oval Cartouche and Acanthus Scrolls

Measured at 70 inches wide and 66 inches high, this is a generously scaled carved console mantel. A central oval cartouche with beaded edging divides the frieze into two recessed panels, and carved rosettes mark each end block. The jambs are tall scrolled consoles with acanthus leaves at the shoulder, spiral volutes, fluted shafts and rolled scroll feet. The cream limestone has an even, finely pitted surface and softened carving throughout. A strong choice for a great room, grand living room, estate or hospitality lobby with generous ceiling height.
