Limestone Mantel with Scrolled Keystone and Console Jambs

A reclaimed limestone fireplace mantel with a strong architectural profile. A heavy molded shelf sits above a tall plain frieze, and at the centre of the lintel a carved scrolled keystone hooks over the molding. Each jamb is built from stacked scrolled consoles with fluted faces and small carved panels, set on paneled plinths. The pale limestone is open textured and finely pitted throughout. Installed between white cabinetry in a bright living room, it shows how carved stone reads in a light interior. Suited to coastal houses, living rooms and custom residential projects.
